About Buhurt

Buhurt is a full contact sport that is a modern interpretation of medieval combat. It is a team sport where two teams of fighters face off in a large field. The goal is to defeat the opposing team by knocking them to the ground. The sport is a mix of martial arts, wrestling, and team sports. The fighters wear full armor and use blunt weapons to simulate medieval combat. The sport is fast paced and intense, with fighters using a combination of skill, strength, and strategy to defeat their opponents.

First championship was held in 2005 in Ukraine.

Why Train

Grappling is a big part of this sport, so Buhurt is a great playground for testing techniques. As a Judoka, you will have to make adjustments to be efficient. However, the experience of using techniques in armor will give a new perspective on what "The Gentle Way" means.
